This is a very organized, respectful and proper environment! As an employee, seeing clients wanting to make a tremendous change and succeed in life brings happiness to all. Making a difference everyday! Might I say the food is amazing as well, you won't ever go hungry!

This place is so amazing. The owners, the staff, the environment, the food. I could go on & on how wonderful this place is. But i'm living proof that it works. 18 months ago I went into this place for 30 days & it changed my life for ever. Thank you all so much. I was a hot mess when I got there & today I'm a facilitator at the Salvation Army Arc program in Sacramento. I am as much a part of their recovery as they are to mine. I love all you guys.

With a friendly staff and comfortable, tranquil environment, AFRS made the intensive transition from a life of drug abuse into sobriety far easier than it should have been. All of the counselors are state board certified but it should be noted they do not have training in dealing with the actual psychological reasons behind one's addictive behaviors. Amenities: Comfortable memory foam beds Two people per room at max occupancy In home chef with food cooked fresh daily Personal trainer two times a week In house gym with bikes and lifting equipment Volleyball court Horseshoes Massive nature area for meditation Running track Smoking allowed (If you vape then don't worry about going back to cigarettes for the duration of your stay as electronics aren't allowed, recovery is more important in the long term than a month of smoking) Yoga mats provided Art therapy for the creatively inclined WARNING: If I can make one recommendation then be sure to purchase "The Heart of Addiction" by Lance Dodes before being admitted into the program at AFRS because sadly, their model of treatment (12-Step) is based purely on fallacies and erroneous beliefs. Sadly, those that choose to go the 12-step route prescribed by AFRS will not achieve (as is evidenced by their senior staff) actual recovery because they haven't tackled the deep, fundamental issues that drive addiction--one would think that meetings wouldn't be necessary after 20+ years of sobriety which in my eyes as well as the eyes of actual psychologists is a clear indication of the failings of their preferred method of treatment. It is with this knowledge that I can only recommend this program for detoxification if needed and will loudly say SEE AN ACTUAL PSYCHOLOGIST as opposed to their counselors that are trying to treat patients while not actually having achieved recovery themselves. Having done my own personal self-work I can say that I have gained more knowledge from this single book than I did during my entire stay at AFRS therefore I am reducing their rating from 5 to 3 stars under the basis of their treatment modality being inadequate to actually treat the underlying causes of addiction. Having said that, if you need a place to detox or have court-ordered requirements for treatment then there is not a better facility in the area or one with a more caring, friendly staff.

With a friendly staff and comfortable, tranquil environment, AFRS made the intensive transition from a life of drug abuse into sobriety far easier than it should have been. All of the counselors are state board certified and they work with every client to develop a unique plan that deals with addiction at the emotional level to ensure continued sobriety even after you walk out of the doors at AFRS--even if you aren't one for the usual faith based 12 step approach. Without naming names, I can safely and proudly say that the AFRS staff didn't just save my life but made me come alive into the person that I always knew I could be. If you or anyone in your family are struggling with addiction then do not hesitate to contact AFRS to answer any questions and calm any concerns you may have about seeking treatment in either their residential program (30-60 day programs available) or their intensive outpatient programs. I can say clearly that their caring hearts speak louder than any words can and you will get through whatever issues you may have if you "commit yourself fully" to the programs they offer. Most importantly, the AFRS crew are advocates for not just sobriety, but for the addict themselves which is refreshing to see in a world that has all but written them off even amidst the terrible epidemic we as a people are facing. No matter who you are, know that you and your family can beat addiction and that life does get better and to be frank, I'm happy that I chose AFRS to help me tackle my issues. If you decide to admit you or a loved one to their residential program and have a choice in counselor I'd recommend Harry from personal experience but no matter who you get placed with you will find yourself a reborn person at the end of your treatment program--I know I sure was. If you are looking for a Facility in the Stanislaus county area I highly recommend AFRS. I’ve been to iop atmospheres and a 3 day detox, but nothing comes close to the consideration and care received here. You are given access to one on one and group setting counseling, relapse prevention techniques and weekly art therapy, as well as the opportunity to have family conjoint meetings to help the transition from rehab to home. I absolutely loved how considerate and flexible AFRS is to each unique situation and the open door policy that is incorporated for those who may need a second chance at rehabilitation. I am forever grateful for this place! (The cooking is amazing also)!

I have nothing to say but good things about this amazing place and this amazing family. If it was not for them and this place i don’t know where i would be right now. Modesto and surrounding areas has needed a place like this for a long time. And now finally there is a safe place for people to go to get the help that is much needed. This place has taught me so much and has the best staff i have ever seen at a facility it’s just pure amazing. I am very blessed to have this place and all these amazing people put in my life to give me the help that i needed because again without them i don’t know where i would be. I have nothing but 100% gratitude 🙏 for AFRS!!!!! The care the family and the staff has given to me and my family you just don’t see any where where, not these days. So much compassion. Very thankful for this place.
