Changed my life

Ct saved my life. Was homeless on the streets on San Jose after being released from jail. After going from shelter to shelter looking for food and a place to sleep for the night I discovered city team was not only a shelter and place to get food but also a rehab. They offered all the classes I needed for court but most importantly introduced me to the one and only true God. I excepted God into my life in jail but got to know him through the program they so graciously took me into. I graduated the program in 10 months and was able to stay the following year while going to college and getting my education. After 2 years of sobriety I ignored the advice of the director, house manager, counselors, sponsor, spiritual mentor, and most important my brothers I grew with spiritually and in sobriety and moved to Maui. I relapsed shortly after. Maui has nothing close to CT. I wish I never left. I have been back on my feet for a while now but miss being part of something bigger than myself. They taught me to give back more than I take in. I'm writing this post because was just looking up the desk number to ask for the 50 men in the program to pray for me in they're daily prayer circle. And for all those struggling with addiction I will pray for you,... him, her, he, she, us, them, you, me, WE, n the families we hurt in our darkest times but that stay by our side out of hope and faith. Thank you City Team San Jose. For saving my life. And please except my apologies for not listening to the last words of advise you have me. "Don't leave your support group"

I've volunteered here several times. The website is easy enough for registration, but I found that since i wanted to use my special skills over a long-term commitment that calling helped me to land a job that wasn't listed online. The staff are really pleasant, and there are always things to do, including for larger groups. Clearly people's lives are being changed here, and its awesome to be a part of that kind of service.

I have had the pleasure of volunteering at this organization. Cityteam's staff is friendly, caring, and devoted. The clients I've interacted with were committed to recovery, faithful, and receptive to learning and growth. The facilities are well kept and programs are thoughtfully organized. Productive, impactful volunteer opportunities--highly recommended!

Situated in San Jose, California, Cityteam has treatment options for those who are seeking help for drug and alcohol addiction.
Addiction is a progressive disease of the mind that will continue to get worse with time if it goes untreated. It will continue to worsen without the help of a recovery program. It’s important that those who are addicted to drugs and alcohol seek the help of Cityteam in order to regain the life that has become lost to addiction.
Through a thorough patient evaluation, addicts who attend treatment at Cityteam can get a personalized treatment plan made. The assessment is intended to depict the severity of the addiction as well as to learn more about the individual themselves. This way, a comprehensive treatment program can be put in place in order to reap the desired result; that being long-lasting abstinence from drugs and alcohol.
Throughout the patient’s time in treatment at Cityteam, the addict will learn new vital coping mechanisms and trigger management skills. These will help the addict adapt to a new life that is free of substance abuse when they reenter society. Since many addicts relapse, it is inherently important that they avoid certain settings or social circles that will pressure them to use.
At Cityteam, we believe that all addicts have the courage within to overcome their drug and alcohol addiction. Through the constant support of counselors and professional advisors working with addict’s daily, recovery is possible. Despite how long one has been an addict for, recovery is still absolutely attainable. Treatment is not a one-size-fits-all approach and at Cityteam, treating each patient with individuality is of utmost importance.
Breaking the vicious cycle of addiction is tough, but with professional counselors and effective treatment options in place, sobriety is closer than it seems.
