I been waiting in the ER waiting area for 13hrs 9am to present and it's now 10:06pm. Monitoring pt who have been registered after me leave before me ... I have not heard anything what so ever in regards to my results from my blood work, EKG and or X-rays taken or anything to atleast ease my mind? I believe this is very unethical/inconsiderate and unprofessional! Communication barrier between pt and charge ER Nurse would be greatly appreciated if implemented this would set the tone to ease ER pt who are awaiting to be seen, minds.

Well,...Where should I start?? How about at Home rushing to the Bathroom. Tripped, fell & fractured my Hip. Called 911. Paramedics took me to Shady Grove Hospital & then to Georgetown University. Unfortunately, I was there in the hands of "The Dreaded Weekend Students" which explains "Why & How" I had 2 Cardiac Arrests Back-To-Back!! I woke up to a Breathing Tube, Wires, Lines & Big Bright Lights!!! Mom told me I'd better get out of there, so I wrote on a piece of paper to please transfer me to UMMC. Since I had the Recent Open-Heart Surgery, was a Dialysis Patient for 5 years, a New Broken Hip & just suffered 2 Cardiac Arrests, I was Transported to Baltimore by MedStar Helicopter!!! The Ortho Team was AMAZING!!! I can therefore give you AN HONEST & VERY ACCURATE COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW by being a "Frequent Flyer" here: IN THE "ER": First, "Lauren or Adrian" will probably be the Friendly Faces who will greet you @ the Reception Desk. The Doctor you want to have is ANY "ATTENDING" DOCTOR!!! (I can't stress this enough!!!) **BEWARE OF STUDENT-TEAM "MED 6": RESIDENT NICKOLAY BOGUSH, RESIDENT YITSCHOK APPLEBAUM & INTERN JESSICA IBANEZ!!!** The Nurses you want would be Sarah & Laurel, Lindsay, Jess "The Best", Basha "The Beautiful Vampire", Craig, Ron, Winnie, Jackie, Tamika, Tiara Bynum, BUDD (GOOD STICKS) & Jeffrey Ross "The Senior Vampire". **THE BEST TECHS IN THE WHOLE ER IS "TAYVON, DEANDRA & NIKKA" - JUST ASK FOR THEM!!** X-RAY Tech "Bobby" is FANTASTIC (Get him!!) **For the record, the X-ray Tech "Kendall" (female) was NOT FRIENDLY** IV TECHS Tiana & Morgan are "1-Stick Wonders"!!! The Best "ER" Transporters are Nestor & Emmanuel. **ALL THE HOSPITAL TRANSPORTERS ARE VERY "PROFESSIONAL & SAVVY"!! (They can ANSWER your Questions)** Ms. Catherine, Macie, Tiffany & Erica will help with Admitting & Insurance. *ERIC of Environmental Services is EXCELLENT!!!* IN THE CCU: The Nurses you want are Julie, Paige, Cindy & Kevin. The Techs you need are Carl "Mr. C-Nile/ 1-Roll Bed Changer", Mike & DJ. IN THE MICU: **BEWARE - You really don't want to be here!!! IT'S ALMOST COMPLETELY GOVERNED BY STUDENT-TEAM "MED 6"!!!!** IN DIALYSIS: The Doctors each have different levels of Experience. The Nurses you'd like would be Kaydian, Eva, Patty, Tiffany, Rachida, Philip & Jill. The Techs you'd want are Julia, Amanda, Eefy, & Abrahim. IN THE "IR": The Doctors you want to know are Dr. Lowe, Dr. Richard & The AWESOME Nurse Practioner "MINDY" The Nurses that are EXCELLENT are Nancy, Annie, Shantel, Patty, Penny, Jess, Nichole & Christina. The Techs that rock are Tae, Suzie, Kelly, Tomiko, Chuck & Carolyn. THE 13TH FLOOR: STUDENT-TEAM "MED-4" IN-CHARGE HERE. (Dr. Larlaker & Dr. Faruk a The Good Nurses are Rosario, DeCarlo, Kara, Sydney, Gretchen, Amanda & Tanyya. **BEWARE OF LINDA, WENDY, MARIA & AMITA.** The Good Techs would be Gordona & Veronica. **BEWARE OF TECH "JESMIN"** THE HOUSEKEEPER "JEWEL" IS SUCH A PRECIOUS FIND, HER NAME SAYS IT ALL!!! THE 10TH FLOOR: 10 EAST: Nurses Kayla, Bikash & The "Sistas at The Station". THIS IS A VERY LIVELY, SOCIAL & COOL UNIT!!! 10 WEST (IMC): Ask for Tech "EBONY". Stella, Sysan, Kathy, Chelsea, Jackie, Valerie Taylor, Ruth Neary. The Amazing Techs are Dwight, Chuck & Dominique. IV TECHS that are Good are Lisa, Devon & Tiffany. THE WHOLE PHYSICAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT (PT/OT) IS AWESOME....ESPECIALLY "CASSANDRA"!!! FOOD SERVICE: A lot of nice folk but LaTisha, Kayla, Madison & "Baby Gurl" comes to mind. THE FOOD IS NOT GOOD!!! No ED is greener, cleaner, or people pleaser but one thing is for sure about this ED -- the nurses are extremely competent and knowledgeable . They surely will make dead come back to life. I even heard my nurse educating the resident doctor about cleaning up his mess inside the room after they put a cast n me. Suck it up haters. if you can't wait long hours it means --- you're not dying and there are more sicker patients ahead of us.

My 1 year old son had a very rare syndrome that his primary and local hospital could not describe or diagnose. I took at trip here and when I left I was extremely satisfied with his results. The time and professional care that he received as well as the kid friendly environment! Thank you UMMC

Iman Marshall, 1 year ago

They were professional and kind. I've been in several hospitals, this one was the best. I would recommend this hospital. Dr. Roe in the cancer center is the best.
