Ladies, Rescue Dogs accepted into training have been vetted (checked by a trained professional for temperment, trainability and physically capable to perform the job). Dogs will have basic obedience training before venturing into the public (and many will be advanced). There are PLENTY of places to begin socially introducing new partners to the hustle of a working dog. Dog parks, pet stores, most feed stores, dog-friendly cafes, walking around the neighborhood... I have raised puppies thru 4-H for guide dogs and later received my own pre-trained, pre-selected service-dog partner. I have applied for my new dog HERE instead any of the others. I want to train my dog, MY dog, that I choose from a group of CAREFULLY pre-screened canidates. I am moving to Rio Rancho to begin finding and training my new life partner.

Paws and Stripes rescues dogs from shelters and trains them to be service animals. I'm no dog trainer but how are you supposed to teach an animal to behave in public without taking it out in public?
