The Empowerment Center

Located in Reno, Nevada, the Empowerment Center is a nonprofit organization that is committed to providing assistance to women aged 18 and older who are grappling with substance use disorders. The center's objective is to enhance the quality of life and restore dignity to these women by offering comprehensive treatment and support services that are customized to their individual requirements. The Empowerment Center is dedicated to assisting women in the process of recovery and the reconstruction of their lives by providing a secure and organized environment. 

The center provides a variety of programs to accommodate the diverse requirements of its customers. The Residential Treatment Program is a four-month program that offers a highly structured, alcohol- and drug-free environment to facilitate recovery. The objective of this initiative is to assist women in the acquisition of life skills and self-sufficiency in order to facilitate their transition to independent living. In addition, the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is intended for individuals who have completed inpatient treatment or require ongoing support while residing at home. This program employs evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to assist individuals in the development of life skills and the restoration of relationships, all while ensuring that they fulfill their daily obligations.

Another significant service provided by The Empowerment Center is its Transitional Living facility, which offers comprehensive support to assist women in establishing a stable life as they prepare for independence. To guarantee that women receive the comprehensive care they require during this critical phase of their recovery, this facility provides semi-private accommodations, furnishings, on-site laundry, meals, and therapy sessions, both individually and in groups. In order to satisfy the unique requirements of its clients, the Empowerment Center implements an assortment of therapeutic methodologies. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is employed to assist individuals in recognizing and altering negative thought patterns and behaviors. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) emphasizes the development of coping mechanisms to regulate emotions and mitigate self-destructive behaviors. In addition, Motivational Interviewing (MI) is implemented to improve an individual's motivation to change by addressing and resolving ambivalence. In addition to these therapies, the center implements trauma-informed care and 12-step programs to address co-occurring mental health issues. 

The Empowerment Center is acknowledged for its dedication to delivering high-quality care and maintains numerous significant accreditations. The center's accreditation as an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) underscores its commitment to the treatment of opioid use disorders in accordance with the most stringent standards. The facility is also licensed by the State of Nevada Bureau of Health Care Quality Compliance and is recognized as a Level 2 Intensive Outpatient/Co-occurring Disorders Adult Service provider by the Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment Agency (SAPTA). The Empowerment Center provides specialized services to address the distinctive challenges encountered by various populations, in addition to its primary programs.
