My time at Lifeskills for addiction treatment was an excellent experience. One of the biggest factors which made it so was that I felt like part of a team, actively working alongside my therapists towards a place of recovery, rather than a patient being worked on by doctors. The facilities were nicely maintained, the staff was delightful from the techs, to the therapists, to the interns. There was always someone there for me, eager to sit and process whatever thoughts or worries crossed my mind. My parents participated in family therapy alongside me which was, opposite of those I've experienced at similar facilities in the past, very comfortable. The family therapy staff kept my parents abreast of my treatment, and helped my parents and I reestablish stable relations- something which hasn't existed in nearly a decade. Not to sugar coat things, remember, I attended Lifeskills as a drug rehabilitation patient, and oddly enough, I found myself growing disappointed towards the conclusion of my time there. Considering the circumstances under which I arrived (coming to from a black-out, in jail, with few options) I was surprised to say the least as to my feelings about it. They make it easy to find the silver linings in times when, to the client, such may have seemed near impossible.

My time at Osceola was extremely helpful to my recovery and mental health. The staff here is supportive and give great advice. The environment is calm and relaxing and very well kept.

My state of mind changed thanks to Lifeskills. Every single person there helped me make my life better. It was not easy at first but, that's the way it goes when one disconnects and enters a treatments center. The point is to focus only on yourself, and the professionals in Lifeskills will guide you. Also, the people you are going to meet there are going to show you that you are not alone. Eventually, depending on your situation, family is going to be a part of the treatment. The infrastructure is well designed. Every townhouse is comfortable and the maintenance team is great, then it is up to you and your roommates to keep it organized. My life had to be paused in order to build my new self, stronger and healthier. Lifeskills was my home for 4 months, my case was mental and emotional recovery from a brain surgery and my struggle with Borderline Personality Disorder. I became a new person after being in Lifeskills.

Being a Veteran diagnosed with depression, PTSD and substance abuse, I started my journey at the VA. I heard about Lifeskills during my stay and I immediately liked the environment when I arrived. I was assigned a buddy which happened to be my roommate at the VA and that made things easier for me to adapt. I have adjusted to the groups, one on one therapy, and outside NA and AA meetings and also outings on the weekends. I really enjoy cooking in my apartment for me and my roommates and peers. I appreciate the staff helping me to make my appointments and providing transportation. Lifeskills is also assisting me with finding housing once I have completed the program. I highly recommend Lifeskills to anyone suffering from any behavioral health issues or substance abuse of any kind. Sincerely, Miracle.

The rules of the Lifeskills are simple. In punishment for the uprising, each of the twelve districts must provide one girl and one boy, called patients, to participate. The twenty-four patients will be imprisoned in a vast outdoor arena that could hold anything from a burning desire to a frozen heart. Over a period of several weeks, the competitors must fight to the death. The last patient standing wins. One patient to rule them all. This is how my stay at Lifeskills began. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to AA…. constantly to AA. But in the end, it’s only a passing thing. This shadow; even darkness must pass.

This place has saved my life, it is exceptional in ever way, the therapists from every aspect is great. The community living is very helpful to get your life back in order by going to the gym, yoga, the groups, and outside meetings really help you in your recovery. I recommend this treatment facility because of the wide variety of therapy, the staff and the overall good vibes it has in general; if your life is unmanageable and you want to change your life for the better- this is the place! Take it seriously, and you will get so much out of it.

I am 28 years old and suffer from addiction and mental health issues. In my life my sickness has taken me through so much pain, loss and near death experiences. On my path to recovery i have been through 26 treatment centers, detox programs and psych hospitals. I was completely at my wits end. No treatment center I have found had the capacity to help me, and it always ended the same way. Life skills south Florida has helped me in many various ways such as getting back to who I really am inside and out. My self esteem is boosted everyday as I taker care of my self, do my own laundry cook my own meals and attend self help, mental health and addiction groups throughout the day. The counselors are skilled and able to dealing with me on a level that is personal and supports the growth that I am PERSONALLY seeking as well as what my family wishes to achieve. I highly recommend Life skills south Florida to ANYONE who is seeking help in this area of their life.

We are grateful to lifeskills for offering us hope that our child can recover and lead a productive life. The parent’s weekend we recently attended gave us the opportunity to meet the staff and deepen our awareness of the programs available at Lifeskills. We also benefited from family therapy sessions that opened communications, allowed us to work and interact with other families that share similar situations and created an awareness of dynamics we need to implement to heal as a family. Since entering the program, our child has markedly improved because of the deep knowledge and professionalism of the staff at Lifeskills.

Our family has faced many challenges and lifeskills has been a blessing for us. They have a very informative family weekend which helped our family grow closer together. They helped us gain insights and the information that was given will be valuable for years to come. The employees are skilled professionals and have saved our family. We cannot thank them enough.

Lifeskills has helped bring me to Reality. Changed my life to more positive outlooks and positive way of life. Im learning new ways everyday. The staff has been extremely helpful to me. Their experience is very empathetic and knowledgeable at the same time. Clinical staff works on us individually; unusual. Half way is structured to keep us together and United. Learn to deal with our feelings and learn more what we want out of life before we go on our own. Thank you Lifeskills...

I had struggled with severe depression and anxiety for 13 years prior to coming here, so intensely that I came to view it as a fact of life, an inextricable part of myself. Lifeskills helped me break free of this, freed me from prisons in which I never knew I was contained. What's more, they did so in a way that empowered me to find my own solutions, providing me with swimming lessons instead of a life vest, an internal set of tools which I'm confident will always serve me reliably. This is the first treatment center I've ever been to, so I regrettably cannot speak to its comparative efficacy in an informed capacity, but I'm confident (especially in hearing about some of my peers' prior experiences) that it's a generous cut above the average. If you, like I used to, consider happiness a strange and fleeting anomaly rather than a consistent and familiar mood, I strongly recommend Lifeskills SF. It works if you work it.

my experience at lifeskills has been an incredible life changing event. All of the staff is genuine and truely are there to help every individual especially for the ones that really desire the help that will improve their life. I wish I could thank each and every staff member who has been included in my recovery. To make the flow much more appealing and the ease into not only the residential but the php and iop living facilities are tremendous causing the transitions much less stress oriented. If I had to do this over again this program would be my first choice.

Addiction is a crazy thing. Mental illness is a crazy thing. There is a fine line between wanting to be better and actually being ready for it. I was a patient at the facility in 2010. I didn't stay sober after Lifeskills. However, I did get and stay sober eventually and still am today. Had it not been for the treatment at Lifeskills, and all the insight that I gained by being there, it would have never happened. I look back at my life and my time at Lifeskills all the time, and I remember everyday, how lucky of a girl I was to have been there. Good luck to all, Jessica Gardner

Lifeskills is one of the best rehab programs in South Florida. They make sure you are having a good time while recovering from substance abuse or psychiatric issues. Very good staff to client ratio and comfortable home-like apartments.
