NorthStar Regional - Men's Residential

NorthStar Regional–Men’s Residential is a specialized behavioral and mental health care facility for adult men in Shakopee, Minnesota. They provide comprehensive long-term residential care, crisis intervention, patient stabilization, and aftercare support, including specialized programs for young adults and men with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.

The residential program at NorthStar Regional allows men to focus on their recovery in a private, home-like setting with premium amenities, including an onsite meditation room and recreational facilities. Clients receive intensive, trauma-informed individual, group, and family counseling. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as recreational therapy and meditation, are available. They also participate in recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in self-care, anger and stress management, wellness, coping, and relapse prevention. NorthStar Regional’s aftercare services are designed to support clients’ long-term recovery through robust wraparound support. This includes step-down care and transitional assistance as clients exit residential care and enter sober living, outpatient, or community-based recovery. Additional services may include peer coaching, career counseling, housing assistance, and referrals for medical, mental health, and social services. This comprehensive approach ensures that individuals have the necessary support and resources to maintain their recovery journey.

NorthStar Regional–Men’s Residential accepts private insurance, self-pay, and sliding scale payments, making their services accessible to a broader range of individuals. Financial aid is also available for those who qualify, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality care.

The high-intensity Residential Co-Occurring Treatment program at NorthStar Regional involves a live-in facility that provides therapy for substance abuse, mental health, and medical issues. The program length typically ranges from 4 to 6 weeks, based on each individual's needs. For those requiring a step-down level of care, the Co-Occurring Intensive Outpatient (IOP) with Lodging treatment program is available. This program encourages clients to begin reintegrating into the community while still receiving intensive support, with a program length of 3 to 4 months, tailored to individual requirements.

Additionally, NorthStar Regional offers sober homes, providing a safe living environment for clients who have progressed in their recovery. These homes allow for further reintegration into the community while maintaining a supportive and structured environment.
