PORT Health Services
Overview
Port Health Services is a state-licensed rehabilitation center, accredited by North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services, dedicated to providing comprehensive addiction treatment services to individuals in New Bern, North Carolina. As a nonprofit facility, Port Health Services is committed to offering high-quality substance abuse treatment programs designed to support individuals in their journey toward recovery and sobriety.
Port Health Services offers two primary treatment programs for individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction: Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
The Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program is available for approved candidates who require FDA-approved medications in conjunction with counseling to aid their recovery from substance abuse. This program is designed to enhance independence and facilitate a smoother reintegration into the community. By combining medication management with therapeutic support, MAT provides a holistic approach that helps individuals focus on finding meaning and purpose in their lives while undergoing treatment.
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Port Health Services offers a structured and flexible treatment option for those in need of intensive support but who do not require residential care. The IOP includes various therapeutic modalities, such as one-on-one counseling, family therapy, and group counseling sessions. These sessions are designed to help individuals develop the skills necessary for maintaining sobriety and preventing relapse.
The IOP is time-limited, with sessions conducted three to five times per week, each lasting three to four hours. The duration of an individual's participation in the IOP is tailored to their specific recovery needs. Throughout the program, clients learn essential recovery maintenance techniques, relapse prevention strategies, and gain access to community support and resources.
Port Health Services' comprehensive approach to addiction treatment emphasizes personalized care and community integration. The center’s dedication to providing supportive, evidence-based treatment helps individuals achieve long-term sobriety and improved quality of life. By addressing both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction, Port Health Services empowers clients to rebuild their lives and successfully navigate their path to recovery.
Port Health Services maintains accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), reflecting its commitment to maintaining high standards of care and treatment excellence.
