CHC Addiction Services - Touchstone

The Community Health Center in Akron, Ohio supports individuals facing challenges with substance use and alcohol abuse. The facility, located at 838 Coburn Street, Akron, Ohio 44311, is dedicated to helping people work toward long-lasting recovery. It offers a range of treatment options including residential care, medication-assisted treatment, intensive outpatient programs, and adult counseling services. A tailored program for women addresses unique needs, providing personalized care for those battling addiction. 

A prominent offering is the Touchstone program, a partial hospitalization initiative that provides supportive housing for women undergoing treatment. In this setting, women reside onsite and may have up to two children under school age living with them. This approach accommodates the specific needs of pregnant and postpartum women, allowing them to receive the care they require while keeping their family together. 

 For adults, the Rocco Antenucci Memorial Adult Residential Center provides a structured and supportive environment. With 24 beds available, residents typically engage in treatment for a period of 60 to 90 days. The program employs both individual and group counseling methods, aiming to facilitate a stable path toward recovery. 

The center benefits from financial support provided by the CHC Foundation, which was established in 1985. Over the past two decades, the foundation has raised millions of dollars through fundraising events and community development projects. Collaboration with the Ohio Multi-County Development Corporation expands housing support, reaching specific populations across three counties. 

In addition to clinical services, the facility houses administrative offices, OMCDC housing offices, and offers public services such as fingerprinting and background checks. The center operates from Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and remains closed on major holidays.
