This place saved my life. I was an IV opiate\heroin user for 10 years. After life support, jail, then having 4 surgeries (3 bone infections and open heart) I decided to make a change. Since attending PAR (almost 1 year) I have now been employed 6 months, have my own place and can fully function as a productive member of society.

Operation PAR has been great to me. Was a patient in 2003ish --- Some of the best years of my life was being stable on MMT (The old 26th Street Location) and going to MCC (local community college) -- Taking fun courses like Kayaking, Camping, Screen Play Writing, etc. For those two years - I felt human. Left PAR. Life went to hell. Showed up 06/17 -- My information was still on file. They got me in the SAME DAY. My counselor, Shane, is super chill. Front staff are all cute young woman who when dealing with hundreds of clients are still able to remember my name - The nurses are great. There's lots of RED TAPE with MMT, yet that isn't PARS fault. That's because there are major FEDERAL RESTRICTIONS. If you complain about PAR -- Google around about other clinics and see if you could handle those "rules" -- Also, Operation PAR IS "NON PROFIT" - Most Methadone Clinic are FOR PROFIT, CASH ONLY. Being Non Profit means they supply and offer so many resources that "For Profit McMethadones" don't offer. Once again, my life is going great - getting better daily since I started four months ago... and now I wake up early, feel productive --- PAR works!

I went for 4 years 12 years ago and I had a semi decent experience. I loved my councelor but she left the program and I was stuck with an idiot. She claimed that I failed a drug tesg after 4 years of neg screens for pot and I was 1 week away from getting 13 takehomes at a time. I felt like I was being sabotaged! I ended up finding a pain management dr who would treat me so I left for nearly 8 years. I decided weeks ago to return because my doctor kept decreasing my dosage too quickly and I needed cojncenlling. The staff seems to hsve improved drastically and I was even hospitalized on day 6 of induction for 16 days. They made sure thst the hospital treated me so I wouldn't have to start over. I'm so glad that the staff are all new to me since previously attending.

Does anyone know of any other clinics in the area other than this one-off Sarasota? I'm transferring to the area. When I called, they were very helpful and nice - I just want to weigh my options. Thanks!
