Hey, Kristen Wolff. Did it ever occur to you that an addict needs to WANT to stop using for any program to work? You sit here blaming everyone for not doing anything but the main person was the one not engaged. Is it Horizon's fault if your boyfriend uses? Do they take him out and get him loaded? If either of you knew he was that far gone, why wasn't he in in-patient services? Any treatment program is as strong as the person who enters it, be it in/out patient or a 12-step group. If your boyfriend continued to use, that's on him and no one else. You're playing the blame game. Rehabilitation programs don't "fix" people when they step inside the facility. It's hard work for the addict, Horizon is there to support people not wipe their backsides for them. Sounds more like your boyfriend hasn't figured out what he wants in this life. That's hardly to blame on Horizon, its program, or its people. And yes, I've been in their out-patient program. Why does it help? Because I've decided to help myself. Maybe one day your boyfriend will decide to do the same.
